I realise that some of my flats were missing finishing details like the closing/opening. I also learnt that they are actually a variety of closure, etc(other details) that we can still use and modify into our own designs.
I was also recommended to find one more fabric to add into my collection, one that is not as sheer as organdy/chiffon, preferably cotton. So I ended up finding POPLIN, a cotton fabric, which feels stiffer than regular cotton.
With the addition of the new fabric, I also added a new colour (see Design 6). At first, I was worried this would ruin the mood of our entire collection, but after looking at it a few more times, I decided to take the risk. This is because I felt that the green neutralizes the other pale earth tones.
Reflections
This week I was still struggling with some of the flats, but as I got closer to the end, I realise that I was getting faster, which was a relief.
As I started finalizing most of my flats, I was also a bit confused about some of the hem finishings, and whether I should insert a stitch line or not. OR at which parts I should draw a topstitch, considering the design and type of fabric. Luckily, most of my doubts were cleared by the end of the week.
