Week 9: Colour and Fabric Board Progression

Final Fabrics
As mentioned before, since I wanted to play with layers and textures in my designs, these are the fabrics that I selected:
Crinkle

This is an interesting texture that I really wanted to use in my designs, most probably as a skirt. It reminded of the rough tree trunks or very used/old material, which I feel extremely suited my concept and theme.

Organdy

I will use organdy on the outer layers of the garment.

(Viscose) Crepe

After exploring fabrics at Chinatown, I finally understood what crepe was..and I LOVE IT. It is also going to be one of the main fabrics, used on the inner layer of my designs, such that it will drape nicely on the person's body.

(Cotton) Voile

I am going to use this both on the inner and outer layers to create a more flowy and flare look.

(Icon) Chiffon

I am also going to use this both on the inner and outer layer.

For most of my fabric, I chose because they had nice and unique textures, and I assumed they would be comfortable to wear.

 Fabric & Colour Board Submission
Fabric&Colour Board

I tried to experiment with different shapes and sizes to make my board more interesting, but still clear at the same time.  To identify the colour and the fabric, I used different shapes;  and as for the sizes: the larger ones represent the more prominent fabric/colour that I would use more frequently in my collection.

I also inserted pictures of nature motifs to remind people of my theme and the line work that I am going to try to use in my designs.

In my designs, the lines of the tree branches at the background are going to be printed on some of the fabric too.
